Trail Mix Part
Contagion
Steven Soderbergh and this cast elevate way may have otherwise been a rather formulatic virus film. The plot is intriguing, the tension and threat immediate, and overall, it just looks like a hell of a lot of awesome fun.
Rating:A
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
I haven’t seen the first film, simply because I am not a Guy Richie fan, although I adore Robert Downey Jr. For what these films aim to be, I’d say the tone is right and this should please fans of the series. Downey Jr. was entertaining as always.
Rating: B-
Hugo
Scorsese’s long awaited adaptation of The Invention of Hugo Cabaret. Apart from the over-zealous music and generic, clichéd font I love the content I this trailer. I still need to read the book prior to its release.
Rating: B
The Amazing Spider-man
I commend Marc Webb for a) going a bit darker b) sticking true to the actual origin story in terms of bringing in Gwen Stacey from the start but overall, the content in the trailer is still too similar to the first franchise as well as a reminder that it really wasn’t all that long ago we were seeing all of this. Also, I know some people were flipping out over the POV shots but they came off extremely video game-ish to me and if they’re actually in the film --- well. *cringe* I love the cast but I’m not overly excited.
Rating: C
Moneyball
Seems like far too many different tones trying to go on in one trailer which begs the question: how inconistent in tone will the film be? Love Brad Pitt and Phillip Seymour Hoffman (who is barely in the trailer) but rather underwhelmed by this.
Rating: C
The Sleeping Beauty
The Sleeping Beauty – So strong in tone to Briellat’s Bluebeard – looks to be majestic, bold, and completely unrelenting.
Rating: A-
The Tree
This looks very beautiful. Hopefully it doesn’t give in to melodrama like the trailer somewhat implies, but it still looks to be a incredibly lovely.
Rating: A-
The Dark Knight Rises
The Dark Knight Rises – Just the kind of teaser one has come to expect from Nolan – it contains the obvious shots, the obvious voice over, but it’s still thrilling to no end. Naturally, very pumped for this.
Rating: A
John Carter
The special effects look good but I’m not sure how personally interested I am in the project.
Rating: B
Brave
Very intrigued to see how Pixar will handle something that’s very different to them and much more Dreamworks’ fortay. Interesting trailer. Excited to see more.
Rating: A-
Mission Impossible 4
Evokes the feel and spirit of the first film. I would have been happy for MI3 to be the last film but with J.J. Abrams back at the helm, I expect something very satisfying. A great cast, particularly Jeremy Renner’s inclusion.

Moneyball looks bad. Exactly the type of film I don't care about. Can't wait for The Sleeping Beauty. Looks a bit more mobile (which may or may not be a good thing) and a lot more fantastical than Bluebeard. But since I love how static Bluebeard is I'm hoping that element is still there.
Pretty much everyone on my feed ripped apart the Spider Man POV shot. I don't think one person out of hundreds of reactions that popped up liked it. It's a copycat from the game Mirror's Edge and it personally made me feel like I was on a Universal ride. I legitimately outright could not care less about that film.
Don't really like the Hugo trailer, but that was more trailer-based than footage-based. I have no idea why they changed the title to just Hugo. The Invention of Hugo Cabret or Hugo Cabret were great but Hugo...ick.
I don't really see Dreamworks in Brave, but I'm obsessed with the teaser. Don't care about John Carter despite the cast.
