SAG and DGA predictions

January 29th 2011 21:42
The Directors Guild winners announce tonight. The Screen Actors Guild are tomorrow. Here are my picks:

SAG Predictions

Best Ensemble - Film

The King’s Speech

Best Actor

Colin Firth - The King’s Speech

Best Actress

Natalie Portman – Black Swan

Best Supporting Actor

Christian Bale – The Fighter

Best Supporting Actress

Melissa Leo – The Fighter

Best Drama Series

Boardwalk Empire

Best Ensemble Comedy

Glee

Best Actor Drama Series

Steve Buscemi – Boardwalk Empire

Best Actress Drama Series

Glenn Close – Damages

Best Actor Comedy

Ed O’Neill – Modern Family

Best Actress Comedy

Betty White – Hot in Cleveland

Best Actor – TV Movie/Mini-series

Al Pacino – You Don’t Know Jack

Best Actress – TV Movie/Mini-series

Claire Danes – Temple Grandin

Best Stunt Ensemble - Film

Inception

Best Stunt Ensemble – TV

CSI: NY

Comments: I originally put The Fighter for Ensemble. But then I couldn't wrap my mind around them awarding The Fighter three awards and The King's Speech one. And it still feels weird to shut The Soclal Network out here but it wouldn't be the first time a frontrunner was shut out of the SAG's.

DGA Predictions

(oh my god, I'm gonna do horribly here)

Best Director – Motion Picture

David Fincher- The Social Network

Best Director – Documentary

Charles Ferguson – Inside Job

Best Director TV/Mini-seres or movie

Barry Levinson - You Don't Know Jack

Best Director - TV Series

Martin Scorcese - Boardwalk Empire

Best Director Comedy

Ryan Murphy - Glee - The Power of Madonna

Best Variety/Musical

Don Roy King – Saturday Night Live

(note: I did not predict all of the DGA categories)

What are your thoughts on who will go home with the statues?

You're a studious little bee!
What about predicting the BAFTAs too ... and the Caesers while you're at it?

Just kidding.

LOL, I looked at the damn BAFTA's and said NO NO NO. But yeah, I usually do try to predict the major ones and the Guilds. I'm a geek, I admit it. I just couldn't really handle tackling the BAFTA's this year
