2011 Academy Award Predictions
February 26th 2011 20:06
Despite following this all season I, like most, am completely baffled by what will ultimately win. This year more than any previous year I took some serious risks. I agonized over Best Picture and eventually changed my original prediction. I did many other questionable things as well. I feel confident about maybe... 4 predictions and that's not an exaggeration. Nevertheless, here they are. Feel free to post your own predictions in comments. Up next: my dream ballot

I got 11 out of 24, but if I hadn't changed my mind at the last minute on a couple I would have got 13. Still not as good as I used to be guessing them right.
I can't believe 127 Hours didn't get Best Editing.
Or David Fincher not getting Best Director.
Or Chris Nolan at least getting Best Original Screenplay, if he was snubbed for Best Director.
I was sure Roger Deakins was gonna get Best Cinematography, he's paid his dues!!!
And it really annoyed me that Rick Baker got Best Makeup, especially when the clip they showed was all the CGI work, not his prosthetic work. I love Rick Baker, but his work on The Wolf Man just looked silly. And he's already got an Oscar (the first of its kind) for American Werewolf.
I wasn't that impressed with The Kids are All Right's screenplay. And the movie looked like a TV movie with added raw sex.
